The Cebu Technological University – Main Campus Guidance Service Center’s Day program hosted a General Orientation for all students from September 18 to 21, 2023, at the Cebu Tech Gymnatorium. This event marked a return to in-person activities after a prolonged pandemic-induced hiatus, with the primary goal of providing vital information to the newest members of the Cebu Tech family.

The General Orientation, themed “High Five Cebu Tech,” was conducted in a hybrid format. Freshmen and transferees participated in an in-person orientation, while continuing students from the second year to the fourth year could tune in via live stream.
This Guidance-day program, led by Mrs. Josephine A. Villa, a Guidance Services Specialist, collaborated closely with various colleges within the university. Its purpose was to comprehensively address academic and disciplinary policies, and the array of support services available to help students adapt to college life, ultimately enhancing their prospects for academic success.

Atty. Marvey Arnoco-Ocampo, the Dean of Students Affairs and Services, expressed her overwhelming appreciation for the large number of students attending the orientation program. She underscored the significance of their choice to join CTU, highlighting that it would lead them to earn their respective degrees over the next four to five years. The deans of the different colleges were also introduced during the program and subsequently introduced various department heads within their respective colleges.
The orientation program furnished new freshmen and transferee students with essential knowledge about the university’s vision, mission, goals, and objectives. Additionally, they learned about the core values and attributes of CTU graduates, academic standards and policies, university student services, library resources, students’ rights, medical services, career development opportunities, Gender and Development (GAD) initiatives, and general campus regulations.
