Printing and Packaging Center of Cebu Technological University (CTU) Main
The Printing and Packaging Center of Cebu Technological University (CTU) Main is a University Shared Facility (USF) assisted by the Department of Trade and Industry. It aims to provide production support to MSMEs and start-ups within the locality on product packaging, design, and printing by providing them assistance and access to equipment to increase their productivity and competitiveness among other entrepreneurs.
VISION
To be the leading University-based printing and packaging center in Cebu.
MISSION
To inspire Cebu Technological University (CTU) patented product producers, small and medium enterprises, Designers, publishers, and the likes of the province by connecting people to produce labels, packaging, advertising collaterals, and other related products.
GOALS
- To provide our customers with high quality and best value products through the constant pursuit of innovation and excellence;
- To produce excellent design, quality prints, and affordable prices print products; and
- To contribute toward bettering the social welfare of the communities and environment in a sustainable manner
HISTORY AND BACKGROUND
Cebu Technological University (CTU) provides education with a specialization in Graphics & Design, Engineering, Information and Communications Technology, Teacher Education, Hospitality and Tourism Management, Food Technology, Arts and Sciences, and other Technology courses. In order to facilitate the development of technology, particularly in infusing digital technology into design and packaging, and print production, the Department of Trade and Industry introduces Printing and Packaging equipment University Shared Facility to the university. It was launched on March 14, 2019.
This facility is open to the public targeting not only students but Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) which comprise over 93% of employment in the country. This equipment is designed to attract local entrepreneurs, designers, publishers, and artists, gathering them together inside a printing and packaging environment that provides them access to necessary equipment, thus, linking them to each other as well as to entrepreneurial enterprises, especially start-ups and other industries.
Over time, this will encourage multi‐disciplinary projects and other synergies that would contribute to the overall printing and packaging environment of Cebu and the regions.
