CTU-Moalboal Campus celebrated another project achievement by holding Groundbreaking and Building Consecration Ceremonies for the upcoming Four-Storey Smart Building and the new buildings, together with the campus officials and invited guests at the CTU-Moalboal Covered Court on Tuesday, December 20, 2022.
The ceremony began with an invocation led by the CTU-Moalboal Musical Ensemble Harmonic and Company, followed by the singing of the Philippine National Anthem, Sugbo Hymn, ASEAN Hymn, and CTU Hymn.
Dr. Grace B. Gimena, Director of the College of Arts and Sciences, delivered a welcome address wherein she was delighted to extend a warm welcome who arrived to take part in such an important and wonderful occasion and emphasized the upcoming development of the four-storey smart building.
Dr. Gilda G. Membrillos, Dean of Instruction, delivered the importance of the project in which she highlighted the construction of the four-storey Smart Building as a significant aspect in directing and regulating one’s life as it is called a place where students are protected from other elements while being provided of ideas and knowledge. It is designed as Smart Building as it uses technology to enable efficient and economical use of resources while creating a safe and comfortable environment for the occupants.
Dr. Zandro O. Perez, Director of CTU-Moalboal Campus, then delivered his acceptance speech and expressed his sincere gratitude to Hon. Inocentes G. Cabaron and Hon. Peter John D. Calderon for their presence in attending this momentous event.
It was then followed by the ceremony’s highlight, the blessing and ribbon cutting started with the Gender and Development (GAD) office, the Technology & Admin Building, and the College of Education building led by Rev. Fr. Maximiano together with Campus officials and guests.
This was followed with the most awaited part, the time capsule laying for the groundbreaking of the academic building project in which the act of groundbreaking ceremonies involves two separate rituals representing the cutting, and thus “hurting” and an offering of gratitude to the earth, along with the cornerstone deposit.
