Ang Taga Publication Inducted New EIC for A.Y. 2024-2025

Moalboal Cebu—The Ang Taga Publication of Cebu Technological University (CTU) Moalboal Campus successfully installed Donalyn Sabanal as the new Editor in Chief (EIC) as well as the new editorial board during the Turn Over Ceremony on February 8, 2024 at the College of Education (CoEd) function hall.

Donalyn Sabanal, a 3rd year BSEd Math student, formally relieved the position of Deutsche Mark Rondina as an Editor in Chief of Ang Taga Publication as she accepted the key that indicated the turn-over of the position.

“Now that I am officially Editor in Chief of Ang Taga Publication, accepting this position I am fully aware of an immense responsibility… I genuinely hope not to let you down for choosing me to lead (the Publication),” she said.

She has been a member of Ang Taga Publication since 2022 and she’s taken the position of a News and Sports Writer, News Editor, Managing Editor, Associate Editor-in-Chief, and Editor-in-Chief of the publication.

She also shared about the time when she got interviewed for the position she applied for Ang Taga and believed that it was destiny that led her to Ang Taga.

“It made me think that AT (Ang Taga) is for me,” she shared.

The event also introduced the new editorial board of the Ang Taga Publication, Nathalie Jean Templado as Executive Editor, Mary Joy Pagador as Associate Editor in Writing, Hanz Genandoy as Associate Editor in Visuals, Caroline Ricablanca as Managing Editor, Rosemarie Cañete as Circulation Manager, Jelian Badonio as Secretary, Kryzdale Mameng as News Editor, Cecil Camellere as Feature Editor, Jen Frances Laroga as Layout Editor, Sheyne Cabaron as Literary, Editor Chrishajean Libradilla as Opinion Editor, Shenna Lyca Villahermosa as Social Media Editor, Joseph Tyrone Acogido as Editorial Cartooning Editor, Mary Rose Luanne Felaire as Photo Editor, Charles Nikko Daño as Video Editor, Sarah Jane Anoba as Senior Feature Writer, Kimberly Ann Mapute as Senior Layout Artist and Jemuel Gako as Senior Videographer.

The event was attended by Dr. Catherine Tapales, SAO Director, with Mr. Marvin Pableo, Ang Taga Adviser, and Prof. Carl Deresas.

According to Deutsche Mark Rondina, the event was a testament of teamwork and unity as well as a celebration for friendship and family.

“Let’s embrace the spirit of teamwork and unity as we work towards our common goal…let’s celebrate the past, embrace the present and look forward to a future filled of endless possibilities,” Deutsche said.
