The Gender and Development (GAD) Office of Cebu Technological University (CTU) – Moalboal Campus, in partnership with Moalboal National High School (MNHS), held a forum on the Sexual Orientation, Gender Identity and Expression (SOGIE) Bill and PEPTalk 2025 on June 26, 2025.

The event gathered students and individuals from the LGBTQIA+ community to engage in discussions on identity, health, and social awareness as part of the Pride Month observance.
The first speaker, Atty. Lord Lawrence L. Latonio, discussed key concepts of the SOGIE Bill and outlined the differences between sex, gender, and sexuality. He emphasized that these aspects of identity are distinct, fluid, and shaped by personal experience.

Mr. Stephan L. Cabaron, President of the LGBT Moalboal Mermaids and Head of the Moalboal Rural Health Unit (RHU), led the second session with a PEPTalk titled “Caring with Pride: Embracing Every Identity with Compassion and Respect.”

The program also included a dengue awareness session, highlighting prevention strategies and the importance of early medical attention.
The event aimed to inform participants about gender-related issues and public health topics, while promoting awareness, inclusion, and respect within the school and local community.
