Cebu Technological University (CTU) Moalboal is a state university in the southwestern part of Cebu Province, strategically located in Poblacion West, Moalboal Cebu having a total land area of 14,884 sq.m. It has two departments namely: Technology and Academic Department housing six colleges: College of Education (CE), College of Arts and Sciences (CAS), College of Technology (COT), College of Fisheries (COFI), College of Engineering (COE) and College of Business Management (CBM). There are 15 buildings erected inside the Campus. Program offering of the campus with AACCUP Level 1 Accreditation are: Bachelor of Science in Fisheries (BSFI), Master of Art in Vocational Education (MAV.Ed.), Master of Science in Industrial Technology (MSIT), Master Public Administration (MPA), Doctor in Development Education (Dev.Ed.D.) and Doctor of Philosophy in Technology Management (Ph. D. TM.). The level 2 Accredited programs are Master of Arts in Education (MA.Ed.), Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering (BSIE), Bachelor of Science in Industrial Technology/Bachelor in Industrial Technology (BSIT/BIT) and Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Management (BSHM). Moreover, the Bachelor in Elementary Education (BEED) and Bachelor in Secondary Education/ Bachelor in Technology and Livelihood Education (BSED/BTLED) are Level 2 Accredited which passed Phase 1 of the 3rd Survey Visit CHED Region VII Currently approved the initial permit to offer Bachelor of Arts in English Language With Area of Specialization: English Across the Professions for AY 2020-2021.
As Technologies have grown more sophisticated and high-end, CTU-Moalboal has become an important player in the process of invention, innovation and commercialization. A total of 22 utility models have been applied to the intellectual property office of the Philippines (IPOPHL) for patenting. Five (5) utility models are still in process while 18 have been approved and published. In response to the University’s call to Publish research papers, 12 articles were published in different journals and professors grabbed the first runner-up for Outstanding Utility Model during the 2017 Regional Invention contest and Exhibits while some student researchers won the Outstanding Research Presenters in 2018 and 2019. In condition, the “Panginabuhian Alang sa Kalambuan: Patigayon sa Organikong Masanayong Baboyan” Extension Project of the Graduate School bagged the Best Extension Project.
Recently, (CTU-MC) is chosen as one of the recipients of the International Association of Aquatic and Marine Science Libraries and Information Center (IAMSLIC) Digital Fisheries Library which host over 26,000 publications, reports, articles and documents on all aspects of Fisheries, This collection is made available through the LibraryBox which will provide WiFi access to the Library using compatible devices without an internet and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) Regional Office No.7 Last April 12, 2019 Which caters to the Establishment of Milkfish Fingerlings “Garungan” Nursery in the University.
