Hablon sa Cebu awarded Best in Handicraft in first SUC expo

Racking up titles last year, Hablon sa Cebu got its latest on Wednesday as Best in Handicraft at the “Art of SUCcess: 2020 State Universities and Colleges Expo” in Manila.

CTU Argao representatives found themselves competing against other SUCs at the Trinoma hall, promoting tradition such as hablon-made products—poncho, pouch, bag, and coin purse and organic snacks as squash crackers and sesame cookies.

Exhibiting such went alongside the initiative of the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) to recognize the wealth of SUCs when it comes to innovative creations reflective of local color.

Known as the southern depot of eco-friendly fabric, Argao campus continues to thrive in doing sustainable projects that can not just go head to head with those equally acclaimed products from other SUCs but even go beyond as winning it.

The first-ever SUC expo set the tone this year for innovation toward commercialization. Prof. Evangeline Rellin/ICPA Argao
