On September 28, 2022, two designated faculty members of the CTU-Naga Extension Campus participated in the bamboo-planting activity in CTU Barili in celebration of World Bamboo Month.
Prof. Glenn Trinidad, director of the Campus Extension Program, and Ofelia Labrado, director of the Gender And Development (GAD), participated in the event to promote reducing risk and preserving the local environment.
This is a practical manner for CTU to provide assistance and support to the local and national communities.
The bamboo was chosen to be planted since it is highly productive and is considered reliable for flood prevention in the area. Additionally, because it is simple to plant and harvest, it can support the community’s efforts to increase income generation.
