CTU Naga Extension Campus holds its Teaching Internship Orientation

On Feb. 10, 2023, the Cebu Technological University (CTU) Naga Extension Campus’s College of Education successfully hosted a teaching internship orientation. Aspiring student teachers attended the event, which was conducted from 9:00 AM to 12:00 NN on the second floor.

Mr. Marvin S. Canque, the assistant campus director, opened the orientation with a motivational speech that encouraged the students to seize the opportunities and challenges the internship program presented. Dr. Emelyn E. Jungoy, the chairperson of BEED, stated the purpose, outlining the significance of the internship program and how it will help students in their future careers as teachers.

The campus director, Dr. Adeline P. Dela Cruz, then spoke on work ethics, reminding the students of the importance of maintaining high standards of professionalism and integrity. Mr. Mark Pabico, the school nurse, then spoke on health protocols and medical requirements, emphasizing the significance of the students taking care of their health and well-being.

The policies and procedures of the internship program were then addressed by Miss Leila L. Pinatil, dean of instruction, giving the students an explicit knowledge of what is expected of them throughout their internship. The orientation was concluded by Miss Hyres Rica F. Dela Cruz, chairperson of BTLED, who spoke about the experiential learning course and highlighted the key objectives and outcomes of the program.

In conclusion, the students found the Teaching Internship Orientation a worthwhile experience that gave them a thorough understanding of the curriculum and the confidence to start their careers as future educators.
