September 9, 2024 marked a significant milestone as the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Region 7 and Cebu Technological University (CTU) Naga Extension Campus solidified their partnership during a pivotal meeting. Representing CTU-Naga were Atty. Marvey A. Ocampo, Campus Director; Dr. Glenn Trinidad, Director of Community Extension Services (CES); Dr. Jolo Van Clyde Abatayo, Chairperson of Research and Development (R&D); and Prof. Hyres Rica Dela Cruz, BTLEd faculty member.

This collaboration focuses on supporting the Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP) by equipping marginalized households and communities with skills and resources to improve their socioeconomic conditions. CTU-Naga Extension Campus committed to providing expert trainers and resource speakers for capacity-building initiatives, with training sessions scheduled to begin later this month.

This initiative aligns with the universityโ€™s Memorandum of Agreement with DSWD and underscores CTU-Naga’s commitment to Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 1: No Poverty by addressing the needs of vulnerable communities. Moreover, it supports SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals, emphasizing collaboration as a means to drive sustainable and inclusive development.

CTU-Naga Extension Campus looks forward to empowering communities through this impactful partnership, reinforcing its mission of fostering meaningful community engagement and extension services.
