Cebu Technological University–Naga Extension Campus celebrates the feat of Dr. Roselyn T. Bustos, who published her first sole-authored research article, “Resonating the Success Stories of First-Generation University Students of Cebu, Philippines,” in the May 2026 issue of the Malaysian Journal of Qualitative Research (MJQR), a Scopus-indexed international journal. This milestone demonstrates the campus’ ongoing dedication to research and knowledge dissemination.
Supported by the 2025 General Appropriations Act (GAA), the study underscored the experiences and success stories of first-generation university students in Cebu. It examined their resilience, determination, and the support they received to overcome challenges in higher education. Before publication, Dr. Bustos presented this research at the International Research Conference and Training (IRCT) 2025, held from August 26 to 28, 2025, in Puerto Princesa City, Palawan, organized by the Brunei Darussalam–Indonesia–Malaysia–Philippines East ASEAN Growth Area (BIMP-EAGA).
Dr. Bustos also brought further recognition to the university by being named one of the Top Five Best Presenters for the same paper, in the Socio-Cultural and Education Cluster, at the international conference. Her publication shows her commitment to valuable research and highlights the strong research culture at CTU-Naga Extension Campus.
