Amid crisis, CTU PRAISE TAP continues after the typhoon Odette

The surge of another Covid-19 variant, Omicron, and the significant damage across the region brought by Super Typhoon Odette was never a hindrance in recognizing the contributions of both faculty and staff of Cebu Technological University during the PRAISE TAP event (Program on Awards and Incentives for Service Excellence and Tribute Awards Program) held on January 24, 2022, at Cebu Tech Gymnasium, CTU Main Campus.

This awarding ceremony highlighted the outstanding employees who received a citation as per Revised Policies on Employees Suggestions and Incentives Awards Systems (ESIAS) under CSC Resolution No. 010112 and CSC MC No. 01, s 2001.

The selection committee measures the employee’s educational qualification, teaching experience, professional development, class observation rating, and student assessment survey for the teaching personnel. While for non-teaching, gauged in terms of educational qualification, work experience, and professional development performance rating.

This year ceremony with black and red color motif represents the elegance, power, and dominance of all the teaching and non-teaching personnel of CTU across all campuses who attended the said event; however, there’s some CTU officials and faculties who preferred the virtual experience to witness the giving of awards from 40 various categories.

The Outstanding Faculty – University Officials Category were Dr. Rosein A. Ancheta Jr., Dr. Hedeliza A. Pineda, Dr. Joseph C. Pepito, Dr. Rose Mary L. Almacen, and Dr. Ma. Carla Y. Abaquita.

Meanwhile, the Outstanding Faculty Category across CTU campuses was Dr. Roselyn Gonzales, Dr. Carmencita D. Quino, Dr. Imelda J. Villarin, Dr. Jun-Jun  A.Obiso, Dr. Roselyn T.  Bustos, Dr. Grace  B. Gimena, Dr. Jonathan C.  Maglasang, Dr. Emily C. Costan, Mr. Johnry P. Dayupay, Mr. Rodolfo A. Golbin, Dr. Marivel B. Go, Dr. Mitchelle  D. Arroz, Dr. Venerando A. While the 2021 Presidential Citation – Clarivate South and Southeast Innovation Awards in Academic Institutions Category were handed to Rene Jane G. Alesna, Mr. Rodolfo A. Golbin, Dr. Rowena P. Dato-on, Mr. Kent Marcial L. Catubis, Dr. Leodivino A. Lawas, Ms. Christine Omela V. Ocampo, Dr. Adrian P. Ybañez, Ms. Mae S. Sabayton, Ms. Irene A. Monte, Ms. Christine M. Corrales, Ms. Mary Mae Edgilez D. Yburan and Ms. Elmie S. Delan.

Moreover, Hon. Charmaine P. Antecristo, Hon. Mervin A. Turbonado, Ms. Mira Nona M.Flores, Atty. Marvey J. Arnoco-Ocampo, Dr. Adrian P. Ybañez, Dr. Jerlito A. Letrondo, Dr. Hedeliza A. The 2021 Presidential Citation – Proactive Leadership, Exemplary Competence, Significant Contribution, and Continued Support to the Attainment of CTU VMGO.

The Philippine Association for the Advancement of Science & Technology (PhilAAST) Awardee was given to Dr. Adrian P. Ybanez, ranked as one of the Top 2% of the World’s Researchers and only one representing the SUCs in the Philippines received by Dr. Lanndon A. Ocampo, and the Rank # 1 Top Performing School in the September 2021 Licensure Examination for Teachers (Garnering 88.64 % Passing Percentage) was handed to College of Education, Main Campus Headed by the Dean Dr. Reylan G. Capuno.

The five CTU graduates who landed 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 7th, and 10th places in the September 2021 Licensure Examination for Teachers (LET) Elementary level also received a citation and cash incentives.

Moreover, the event highlighted award was given to Dr. Rosein A. Ancheta, Jr. and Dr. Adrian P. Ybanez as the CTU Outstanding Researcher (Resource Generation-Administrator Category) 2020-2021.

The enormous contributions of the late Dr. Edwin A. Pilapil and Dr. Doris O. Gascon to the accomplishments of the University were never neglected by giving them the Presidential Citation – Posthumous Award.

A total of 284 employees were given credits during the PRAISE-TAP 2021 event for their outstanding contributions and achievements in the delivery of public service. – Almie Mata / CTU-Main
