The University Shared Facility group of Food Innovation Center and Sewing conducted their benchmarking in Cebu Technological University-Argao Campus in their research center through BENRC (Biodiversity, Environment and Natural Resources Research Center) and the Hinablon de Cebu Facility last February 15-16, 2022.
Engr Maria Elena A. Aparente, University Director for University Shared Facilities headed the initiative to improve all units of the University Shared Facility, which comprises the FabLab, Food innovation Center and Sewing.
The University has a total of 17 University Shared Facility across the campuses, which are composed of four (4) FabLab, seven (7) Food innovation Center and six (6) Sewing.
It was attended by the USF directors consist of Dr. Margie Aller, Barili Campus; Prof. Lovella Christianne A. Gulle and Prof Mary Arden Malinao, Daanbantayan Campus; Prof. Marites P. Bejoc, Danao Campus; Dr. Marivel Go, Moalboal Campus; Prof. Lomera Niñamae Cañas, San Francisco Campus; Prof. Alona M. Ordoña, Tuburan Campus; Dr. Rolina Paran, Tabogon extension; Prof. Girlie Fariola, Bantayan extension and Prof. Roda L. Larga, San Remegio extension.
During the activity, they observed the operations and functionality of the different equipment in BENRC and Hinablon de Cebu, performed a hands-on activity on the food innovations, and attended a Patent Drafting Writeshop conducted by the BENRC Director, Dr Rosalyn P. Alburo, along with Dr Hermes Alburo.
The USF Directors were able to produce 12 Utility Models (UMs) as their output for that day that concluded as a productive benchmarking of the USF Directors in BENRC. – Almie Mata / CTU-Main
