CTU Main BEED Graduate tops on LET exam

Among the topnotchers from the elementary level of the Licensure Examination for Professional Teachers (LET) Second Batch given last January 30, 2022, is our very own graduate from CTU Main Campus.

Lilian Cee Ogdoc Baylon, a Bachelor in Elementary Education (BEED) graduate, landed a seventh place in the LET, with a 91.40-per cent rate.

In a Messenger private chat, Ms Baylon shared how she felt. “I honestly could not explain what I felt right after I saw all of the notifications popping out of my phone. It seemed like I was pranked, and all I could think was maybe I was hallucinating and imagining things because, to be frank, I was not aiming to ace the exam. All I wanted was for me to become a professional license teacher.”

When asked what she did in order to top the LET exam, she gladly quipped, “I allotted one month for each of the General Education and Professional Education subjects and another month for answering lots of questions in order for me to be ready in the upcoming exam. Also, right before I opened my reviewers, I always asked God’s grace and wisdom because I certainly believe that I could do all things for as long as He is right by my side and guiding me throughout the whole process of attaining my dream, which is to become a licensed professional teacher.”

The LET results were released last Friday, March 11, 2022, by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) on its website, barely a month after the examination. PRC announced that 8,737 elementary teachers out of 15,696 examinees (55.66%) and 12,074 secondary teachers out of 22,454 (53.77%) successfully passed the Licensure Examination for Teachers.

The CTU Main College of Education (COED), with Dean Dr Reylan G. Capuno and LET Mentor Dr Gengen Padillo, also did very well during the September 2021 LET Exams with four topnotchers (2nd, 4th, 7th and 10th placers) with a complete list accessible at https://drive.google.com/file/d/12toRa8ix1BinE5kzZzzSiYIIaVsYFZh4/view and CTU awarded as the top-performing school in the Elementary level as per Commission Resolution No. 2017-1058(C) series of 2017.
