More than two years after accepting the still arduous head-on battle on digital transformation, the Management Information Systems (MIS) team of the CTU campuses came together in a face-to-face huddle last March 23-25, 2022, to regroup and lay down the strategies of how the 2022 and onwards challenges will fix.
Sixteen campuses sent their MIS Chairpersons and their respective technical staff to the CTU Daanbantayan campus in a meeting called by the University Director for Automation, Innovation and Computing, Prof. Johannes Camasura.
Prof. Camasura led the team through the three-day series of sessions that started with tackling issues concerning the Student Information System (SIS) and other deployed systems on the campuses.
Also, they discussed the upcoming implementation of the SMART Campus project, a 59M project granted by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) which aims to complement the thrust of the CTU campuses in equipping them with the technology to realize its thrust at being globally competitive.
During the three-day session, the group never failed to inject fun and enjoyment as they empowered each other through technical discussions, including sessions on Network safety, a review of the PNPKI Digital Certification, Sophos Certification Training Workshop, and strategizing to keep the university web presence safe by a session on Cybersafety.
The meeting concluded with the formulation of the MIS operational plan, and the MIS team went back to their respective campuses on the third day better equipped with better insights and with renewed determination to keep the CTU management information system accurate to its mandate of automate, innovate and transform.
