The head of instruction of Cebu Technological University-San Fernando Extension campus, and member of the Dagang Foundation Inc., was invited as a speaker as the Cebu Normal University (CNU) – Sentro ng Wika at Kultura (SWK), ug sa Kabataang Pilipino sa Larangan ng Akademiko (KAPILAK) celebrates the month of literature with the theme: “Muling Pagtuklas sa Karunungan Bayan” thru virtual platform on April 23, 2022.
Mr Wilfredo G. Anoos, together with the known literary writers, namely, Mr Adonis Durado, Mr John Dante and Ms Hannah A. Leceña, were invited for a kulokabildo as writers using binisaya-sinugboanon language.
The director of SWK in CNU, Dr Lita Bacalla, with the KAPILAK organization in the university, spearheaded the said activity to make our language and culture valued.
The speakers were asked to speak about their experiences as writers, and their latest book project, which is all written in the vernacular, such as a short story (sugilanon), a poem (balak), essay (sulaysay), or drama (dula-bantawan) and made a participants interaction.
Mr Anoos shared his forthcoming book entitled Katitikan sa Binisaya-Sinugboanon to be published by the Rex Book Store, Inc. The book has four (4) genres, sugilanon, balak, sulaysay, and dula-bantawan, with each story/article having each suggested guide for study in a form activity question.
Mr Durado imparted his balak entitled, Balaki ko Dai Samtang Nagsakay tag Habalhabal. Mr Dante shared the plot of his latest mythology in the senibwano in science fiction. Furthermore, Ms Leceña shared that her Nobel entitled Jonas was taken from the Holy Bible’s story of Jonah as her title. The story is all about the sea, which like the university, it is full of learning.
The activity concluded by giving the certificate of appreciation to the speakers for their contribution to the activity and their love for preserving our language and culture with value.
