Cebu Technological University: Main Campus, spearheaded by Dr Adrian Ybañez, Vice President for Research and Development, conducted the Smart Campus and CTU 5.0 Summit on 31st March 2022 at the Function Hall, 6th/F Centennial Building, CTU Main Campus.
Research and University Directors, Campus Directors, Campus College Deans, Faculty Members, along with the University President, Dr Rosein Ancheta Jr., and President and CEO of AltPayNet Corp., Mr Ernie Dondon Vacal, convene for the ceremonial signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between CTU and AltPayNet.
The undertaking with the theme “Understanding the context and application of the 5th Industrial Revolution (5IR) through the AltPayNet and CTU collaboration framework” is pursuant to CTU Memorandum No.: PC29-162, series of 2022 stating that “Commission on Higher Education (CHED) approved and funded the Smart Campus Development Projects of 89 State Universities and Colleges (SUCs) under Republic Act (RA) 11519 or the Bayanihan to Recover as One Act.”
AltPayNet is a multi-SaaS payment solutions provider for banks, financial institutions, payment providers and merchants with clients and processing capabilities.
During the plenary session, Mr Vacal discussed how Industry 5.0 focuses on a more balanced relationship between humans and machines. Thus, forging a Joint Industry 5.0 Program between CTU and APN is the best way to participate in or even lead society towards Industrial Revolution 5.0.
The plenary talk delved into the joint purpose, areas of collaboration from AltPayNet’s perspective, and joint venture journey highlighting the 4th and 6th University Outcomes. On that note, the signing of the MOU between CTU and APN marks the first step of the journey.
Establishing a joint venture project encompasses the Internal Use Software-as-a-Service (SaaS), Software as a Service for other stakeholders (SaaS), Fintech Company, data center, telecommunication, and professional certifications and training to boot.
CTU is closer to the leading learning institution in the Fifth Industrial Revolution.
