UREC obtained the Level 1 accreditation for Research Ethics Committee

The Research Ethics Committee (REC) at Cebu Technological University has reached a significant milestone, attaining Level 1 accreditation, which serves as a testament to the unwavering dedication and diligence of its esteemed members.

On August 11, 2023, CTU was honored with the accreditation certificate, marking the culmination of rigorous efforts to meet stringent requirements. This accreditation was granted based on the esteemed recommendation of the Philippine National Health Research System – Philippine Health Research Ethics Board.

Under the capable leadership of Professor Anesito Cutillas, who serves as the Chair of the Research Ethics Committee, the University’s REC has secured provisional Level 1 status. This recognition spans a six-month period, commencing on May 31, 2023, and extending through to November 30, 2023.

Cebu Technological University’s overarching vision, mission, and objectives all converge around research as a central pillar, enriching the academic landscape. Within this framework, the Research Ethics Committee plays a pivotal role as an interdisciplinary and autonomous body entrusted with the responsibility of reviewing research endeavors involving human participants. Its primary focus is to ensure the safeguarding of their dignity, rights, and well-being.
