In a concerted effort to bolster environmental stewardship, the National Service Training Program (NSTP) students of Cebu Technological University-Tabogon Extension, under the guidance of their dedicated instructors Mrs. Amiel Sumagang, Mr. Ramel Colegado, and Mr. Joseph Abueva, embarked on a transformative mission on March 23, 2024.
Gathering momentum and determination, the cohorts of BSIT-1A, BSIT-1B, BSIE-1, BTLEDHE-1, BSHM-1A, BSHM-1B, and BEED-1 congregated along the coastal expanse of Barangay Camoboan, Tabogon, Cebu. Armed with resilience and purpose, they set forth to cultivate hope in the form of mangrove seedlings, each student contributing five to ten samplings to the cause.
The significance of their actions extended beyond the mere act of planting. It was a resounding call to arms, aimed at amplifying awareness regarding the invaluable role of mangroves in sustaining coastal ecosystems. As stewards of the environment, they demonstrated a blueprint for successful mangrove restoration, a beacon of hope amidst the looming specter of habitat destruction. | Glyzyll Alicer
