CTU Hosts 2-Day Workshop on Technology Readiness, Pitching Skills, and Gender-Inclusive Strategies

In a bid to drive inclusive innovation and align research with real-world needs, the Office of the Vice President for Research and Development, in partnership with the RATBI and IPTBM Projects, organized a two-day workshop titled Empowering Innovation through Technology Readiness, Pitching Skills, and Gender-Inclusive Strategies. Held at St. Mark Hotel, Cebu City, from December 2-3, 2024, this event provided researchers and investors from Cebu Technological University (CTU) with essential tools and frameworks to commercialize their technologies effectively while embracing gender-responsive approaches.

The workshop offered a comprehensive program blending theoretical insights and hands- on activities to enhance technology readiness, pitching skills, and gender-inclusivity in research and development efforts. Participants engaged in lectures and workshops covering topics such as technology scaling, commercialization planning, and crafting effective pitch decks. A highlight was the Technology Pitching Session, where participants presented their innovations to peers and mentors, receiving constructive feedback to refine their ideas.

Taking place on December 2-3, 2024, the event was timely in addressing the growing demand for market-ready innovations and inclusive strategies in research, particularly as the university strengthens its role in regional and national development.

Malonjao, Technology Transfer Officer, and Prof. Marlou C. Godinez, University Director of GAD, whose session on gender-responsive engagement stood out for its relevance to community-driven innovation. Moderated by Dr. Janeth S. Ugang, the event highlighted CTU’s leadership in advancing inclusive and sustainable research practices.
