Dr. Sunliegh Gador, the University Director for Scientific Publications and CAS Main Campus Research Chair presented their paper during the International Webinar on December 3, 2020. She was the only Filipino presenter in the event. Her fellow presenters were from Colombia, Indonesia, Malaysia and Kenya, Romania, Ghana, USA and Nigeria.
Her co-authors were Dr. Rowanne Marie Mangompit, University Director for the Center of Communication and Media Research and Joseleanor Magno, Chair of the Department of Communications, Linguistics, and Literature of the University of San Carlos.
The study titled “Students’ Learning Experiences of Communication Students” used Kalin & Steh’s (2015) categories in analyzing the best and worst learning experiences of the students. Newly-discovered themes that were self-related, faculty-related and school-related were also discussed in the paper.
Results showed the critical contributions of experiential learning and social climate in the students’ learning experiences. These learning experiences involved the community extension and on-the-job training integrated in their program.
The theme of this event was “International Webinar on International Mobility and its Ethical Implications.” This international event was also organized by the Department of English, Scott Christian College (Autonomous), Nagercoil, Tamil Nadua, India, Globethics.net India and The Journal of Dharma, Bangalore, India. –ccmr/rmmm
