LNHS teachers present proposals to CTU faculty mentors

The community extension of the College of Arts and Sciences led by Prof. Eva Jonah Mari Enojas and the project leader of the PDP Labogon extension project led by Prof. Anne Lorca initiated the mentoring session 1 on February 22, 2021 via zoom.

This mentoring session highlighted the review of the concepts and theories of action research by Dr. Sylvester Cortes, Research Chair of the CAS Main Campus and the presentation of the research proposals of the teachers of Labogon National High School.

The teachers presented five research topics representing their departments as follows:

a. the Impact of Pre-virtual review of Grade 8 learners in distance modular learning by Ms. Janet Placibe from the Science Department;

b. Exploring the Effect of Games on the Vocabulary Development by Maam Dorothy Seno from the English Department;

c. Pagpapaunlad at Kakayahan sa Pag-unawa ng Binasang Akda sa Balitang 7 by Filipino Department faculty, Mr. Marvin G. Quilaquil;

d. Challenges Students Face in Modular Learning by the Senior High faculty, Ms. Ingrid C. Estay; and

e. The Relevance of Education sa Pagpapakatao SLM’s Product Performance on Learners’ situation at home during the pandemic by Mr. Jomie Pepito from the ESP Department.

Prof. Enojas shared her reflection on the teaching practice this time of pandemic and recognized the good partnership with the Labogon National High School teachers and CTU.

Further, Dr. Sylvester Cortes emphasized in his lecture to include all students in the experimental group in conducting action research to practice ethics in doing AR.

Dr. Sunliegh Gador, University Director for Scientific Publication, thanked the teachers and organizers and hoped that CTU would be able to help the Labogon National High School teachers in action research writing and producing quality graduates.

The MOA signing took place on December 14, 2020 with Mr. Fernando Ylaya, principal of Labogon National High School and project leader, Prof. Anne Lorca.

The team also donated five reams of bond papers useful for the module making and two boxes of face masks to LNHS. –ccmr/rmmm
