University Directors participate in the USAID Stride Project Design Workshop

Five Research and Development officials of the Cebu Technological University participated in the Ideation and Project Design Workshop on November 13 – 14, 2019 at Harold’s Hotel. The theme is “STRIDE works towards strengthened science, technology, and innovation capacity for inclusive growth in the Philippines”.

The participants were Dr. Lolita Velita, University Director of Technology and Business Incubation; Dr. Shellalaine Romulo, University Director for Ethics; and Dr. Edwin Carcason, Director for Research and Development Center for Engineering Emerging Technologies.

The other participants were Dr. Jivulter Mangubat, Director for Innovation and Technology Support Office and Dr. Rowanne Marie Maxilom, University Director for Communication and Media Research.

Moreover, activities were organized such as the conceptualization of the problem of the industry, reframing the problem statement, and creating a concept poster during the first day. On November 14, 2019, the reframed problem statement had been reviewed before drafting the objectives, workplan and team formation. Dr. Velita shared her insight on the workshop and said, “It was a great experience…collaboration of the academe, industry and government….”

The facilitators encouraged the participants to submit their proposals to DOST. –rmmm/ccmr
