  • In April to October 2011, he did doctoral research on environmental ethics at Monash University, Australia.
  • He attended the UNESCO Ethics Teachers’ Training Course at the Bioethics Center of the University of Otago, New Zealand in 2017.

  • finished his Master’s and PhD degree major in Biology at the University of San Carlos – Talamban Campus
  • On June 2015, he worked as a Research Assistant in the Integrated Coastal Resources Management Center (ICRM Center) of the Cebu Technological University.
  • Some of the projects he conducted include parasite infestation on cultured fishes, biodiversity and vulnerability assessment of coastal resources.
  • On June 2017, he was accepted as full-time faculty member of the College of Arts and Sciences.
  • On August 2018, he was designated as the Director of the ICRM Center.
  • He continued to work on coastal vulnerability assessment in coastal communities along the northern part of Cebu Island.
  • He has established partnerships with local governments units, University of San Carlos – Biology Department and JPIC – IDC (Justice, Peace and Integrity of Creation – Integrated Development Center, Inc.) for the implementation of a project entitled “Adaptation to climate change and enhancement of the resilience of small – scale fishers from 12 villages in Bogo Bay, Cebu Philippines”.
  • He is also involved in a CHED – DARE TO project with the Visayas State University on “Marine Biodiversity Conservation in Camotes and Cuatro Islands, Camotes Sea, Central Philippines for Sustainable Marine Economy”.
  • He is currently involved in a national project funded by DOST – PCAARRD entitled “Biodiversity Assessment of Flora and Fauna in Cebu Island Key Biodiversity Areas (KBAs)”. The study aims to establish an inventory of the flora and fauna of the last remaining forest patches in Cebu Island.
  • He is tasked to study the malacofauna and to determine the DNA barcode of the plants in the KBA.
  • He has observed that disturbances in the forest areas of the island have adverse effects to the coastal communities due to ecological interplay of ecosystem network. The study shall provide essential information for policy/decision makers in protecting and conserving the biodiversity of the island for both the terrestrial and marine ecosystems.

  • A full-blooded alumnus of the University of Southern Philippines Foundation (USPF) having earned formal education at the university from Kindergarten to College, where he earned the degree BS Psychology (Cum Laude)
  • Obtained his graduate degree as Master of Arts in Guidance and Counseling at Cebu Normal University (CNU) with the thesis: “Effects of Logotherapy on Students Motivation” accepted in conferences of USPF’s Colloquium on Research Excellence, DLSU’s Action Research Action Learning, Psychological Association of the Philippines, Gestalt Wellness Institute Southeast Asia and the Asian Association of Social Psychology; and published on the Philippine Guidance and Counseling Association – The Guidance Journal
  • Currently pursues his studies on Diploma in Research Development and Management at UP – Open University
  • His professional experience commenced as a College Guidance Counselor, then as a University Psychometrician at USPF while being an Instructor for Psychology related subjects. He was briefly employed in the hospitality industry as a Training Officer at Plantation Bay Resort and Spa. Then as Human Resource Officer at Cebu Technological University, before getting back to the teaching profession as a Psychology Professor.
  • He holds designations as University Research Ethics Reviewer and Director of the Research and Development Center for Social Innovation, with accepted research funding (500k) from Central Visayas Consortium for Health Research and Development for a research project on: “Developing a Tool to Measure the Decision-Making Processes in Sex Practices among Men-who-have-sex-with-men Anchored on Protection Motivation Theory”; researcher in a CTU Funded Research (250k) on Food Safety Knowledge and Practices Among Streetfood Vendors

  • After a bachelor of science in Nursing, a MA.Ed., major in administration and supervision and another M.A.Ed., major in teaching Biology, he joined the university in 2012 where he became a fulltime faculty and the local chair of the University Research Ethics Committee (UREC).
  • Currently, he pursues his Doctorate degree in Development Education and has units in Master of Arts in Nursing major in Psychiatric Nursing. His recent research is Lifestyle intervention using modified BASNEF model in hypertension management and was accepted for peer-review in WHO South-East Asia Journal of Public Health. It is a 10-month GAA (General Appropriations Act) funded research. His research interests are in feed formulation, health education, health promotion, and teacher education.
  • He has published books in Amazon and one published and presented research article. One article is due for publishing in March 2020. Presently, he is a participant in the Skills in Technical and Advanced Research Training (START) Series: Writing a Scientific Paper for Publication sponsored by the USAID and RTI International. He teaches research in the Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Management (BSHM) students at CTU-Moalboal Campus, Philippines.
