July 22-26, 2025, marked the extra-graciousness of the Hon. Mythan Ann B. Canoy, San Fernando Municipal Mayor, as she accompanied and covered the CTU San Fernando Extension Campus regular faculty’s expenditures during their educational tour in Ilocos. They explored and celebrated the rich cultural heritage of Ilocos.

The CTU San Fernando teaching force, led by Prof. Wilfredo G. Anoos, Campus Director, along with Hon. Mytha Ann B. Canoy, SB Member-Hon. Carlos Canoy, and secretaries discovered that love was the reason for preserving the structure of the historical church in Paoay on their first day.

After enjoying the flavors of Ilocano cuisine at Kusina Valentin, they bravely overcame their fear while sliding through the steep and breathtaking ridges of the Sand Dunes in Calili Point.

Structures that stood as a testament to the rich cultural heritage of Ilocos were explored, including the Malacañang of the North, and the homes of the renowned painter, Juan Luna, former President Ferdinand Marcos, and former Governor Mariano Marcos. All these structures withstood the surging pressure of industrialization.

The tour also harnessed spiritual devotion as they visited historical churches in Ilocos.

As the team arrived in Vigan, their attention was drawn to the temporary necessities displayed along Calle Crisologo, where authentic photographs, sought by many, were taken.

The five-day tour in Ilocos left the explorers in awe, unearthing the unusual stories etched in every spiel of the tourist guide.
