The College of Education held a stakeholders’ meeting last January 20, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Bantawan sa Kabantog Gymnasium, Northern Poblacion, San Francisco, Cebu, with a theme of “Building Bridges of Support: Strengthening Partnerships for the Future of Pre-Service Teachers”. The meeting aimed to orient parents regarding the upcoming internship for pre-service teachers, specifically the fourth-year education students. Key topics included internship expectations, mentoring practices, and the importance of parental support in creating a successful learning environment. The event facilitated discussions on enhancing the educational experience for students as they transition into practical teaching roles, emphasizing collaboration between educators and parents.
As the meeting proceeds with the teaching internship requirements and fees, parents show their full support by expressing their thoughts and agreeing to the concerns raised. The graduating council also took the opportunity to present the internship uniforms and the breakdown of the fees paid by the parents for the internship uniforms and the pinning ceremony to get a better glimpse of how the funds will be allocated and ensure transparency. The meeting agenda ended with a reminder about the upcoming pinning ceremonyโwhat the parents should wear and their roleโand with the open forum, which allowed parents who wanted to ask and clarify some matters. By promoting transparency and mutual understanding, the meeting strengthened the foundation for a more supportive educational journey for the pre-service teachers.
