Tertiary Education Subsidy (TES) for 260 students enrolled in Cebu Technological University (CTU) San Remigio and Tabogon was released in August, pursuant to Universal Access to Tertiary Education Act of 2017 [Republic Act (RA) No. 10931].
Financial assistance of as much as Php20,000 was given to deserving students from families who could barely provide for book allowance, internet load, and other school supplies.
Degree programs usually applied for by these students include Bachelor of Industrial Technology, Bachelor of Hospitality Management, Bachelor of Secondary Education, and Bachelor of Technology Livelihood Education.
TES distribution focal person Jocelle del Rosario attested to this and said that recipients came from very low-income households in their respective localities.
She added that being enrolled in a state university which abides by the free tuition policy does not spare students from necessary expenses. Hence, she believed that such a privilege was of great help to them.
