CTU Officials Visited a Site for Feasible Lot Donation

On June 7, 2023, CTU officials met with the Municipal Mayor, Hon. Francis Edward T. Salimbangon, to discuss the implementation of CTU Tabogon expansion through lot donation in Barangay San Isidro.  

Present in the meeting: Dr. Rosein A. Ancheta, Jr., CTU Executive Vice President for Operations, JD Jerlito A. Letrondo, Vice President for Administration and Finance, Engr. Alex C. Mayor, University Director for Infrastructures, Dr. Ruben M. Ungui, CTU Daanbantayan Campus, Campus Director, Dr. Rolina C. Paran, CTU Tabogon Extension, Campus Director, Ms. Sofia M. Montana, Administrative Officer V, Engr. Pablo C. Lahoylahoy, Maintenance Chair,  Mr. Ronnie A. Hingco Jr., Municipal Administrator, and Hon. Junipher O. Garcia, San Isidro Brgy. Captain.         

During the meeting, Mayor Francis emphasized “sayang kaayu ang mga estudyante” and that he is committed to ‘allocate budget’ for the construction of buildings as CTU Tabogon’s population is growing. The mayor also highlighted that the first thing to do is look for a feasible lot to establish the CTU Tabogon planned extension site.

Subsequently, Brgy. Captain Garcia mentioned that he is willing to donate a lot in approximately 7000 sq. m. land area in San Isidro. “Para sa akua mga apo, ug sa mga katawhan nga nagpuyo dapit sa amua nga dool nalang ang CTU, ug nindot sad kaayu ni nga maka pa nindot sa ekonomiya sa amuang lugar” Capt. Garcia said.          

Furthermore, it was also mentioned in the meeting that the required land area for a campus is 2 hectares, given that CTU Tabogon existing land area is only 3,081.6 sq. m., just a small scale for the required campus land area.        

In addition, the mayor said “Okay ra kaayu ko mo donate ug 2 hec. sa akuang yuta”, mayor willingly offer his property in Brgy. San Isidro to meet the 2 hec. requirement for a campus land area, “okay ra jud kaayu ko to donate para sa mga estudyante” the mayor added.           

Afterwards, CTU officials, together with Bgry. Captain Garcia visited the sites in San Isidro to look at the viability of land areas for the planned expansion of CTU Tabogon. CTU Engr. Alex mentioned that to allocate a budget, the land area should be feasible and accessible. First, they went to the property of Mayor Francis, located in the same Brgy., and discussed many possible reconsiderations and plans to see if the area was feasible. Second off, the land owned by Capt. Garcia, as mentioned by Engr. Alex, the area is feasible and accessible; aside from that, a water supply is also available. Also, he added that he wants to see the lot plan of the possible lot donations to see if it is good to go.       

 “I am delighted by the happenings that two of our passionate and selfless public servants donate a lot for CTU Tabogon Extension,” said Dr. Paran.
