Empowering Writers: Technological Tribune Writing Workshop Inspires Students

On May 31, 2023, the atmosphere in the Smart Room at CTU Tabogon Extension Campus was filled with enthusiasm as aspiring writers gathered for the transformative Technological Tribune Writing Workshop. This highly anticipated event aimed to equip students with the necessary tools, knowledge, and inspiration to become skilled communicators in the digital age.

Organized by the university’s campus journalism department, the Workshop fostered a creative and interactive learning environment, empowering attendees to navigate modern-day journalism’s intricacies and harness technology’s power for compelling storytelling.

The Workshop commenced with an engaging opening ceremony, where Ms. Maria Gladys Taneo, the Editor-in-Chief, delivered a warm welcome address. Dr. Rolina C. Paran, known for her inspirational messages, then shared words of wisdom, motivating the students to embrace their writing journey. The program hosts, Ms. Manalili and Ms. Arnoco, skillfully handled the speaker’s introduction. Dr. Justy P. Tuquib, a senior high school faculty member specializing in English and Research subjects, a school publication adviser at the University of San Carlos-North School, and a Licensure Examination for Teachers Lecturer at TuTeach Review and Tutorial Center, energetically led the Workshop, captivating the participants’ attention.

The students were later divided into smaller groups for interactive sessions, where they explored various aspects of writing, including journalistic ethics, storytelling techniques, digital publishing, and leveraging social media to disseminate information effectively.

A highlight of the Workshop was the hands-on activity that allowed participants to create online news articles. Under the guidance of an expert mentor, students had the invaluable opportunity to enhance their writing skills and gain practical experience crafting engaging and informative content.
