CTU-Tabogon celebrates Teachers Day

Cebu Technological University’s Daanbantayan Campus, Tabogon Extension, celebrated World Teacher’s Day on October 5, 2023, in a heartwarming and memorable manner. The CTU Tabogon EduVanguard Council (CTEC) officers, led by CTEC President Ms. Jay Marie Presbitero, orchestrated a heartfelt tribute to honor and appreciate the dedicated educators at the university.

The event kicked off with a grand entrance by the esteemed faculty and staff, followed by the customary opening formalities. Hon. Maria Gladys Taneo, the SSG President of the campus, extended a warm welcome to all, inviting everyone to partake in and relish the upcoming festivities.

Teachers were treated to a series of engaging parlor games meticulously organized by the CTEC officers. The anticipation surrounding the teachers’ participation was palpable, and rewards were bestowed upon the winners. The joy and excitement on the teachers’ faces were unmistakable as they immersed themselves in these surprise games. To keep the entertainment going, the Glee Club, along with the special participation of Glee Club adviser Mr. Rick Mel Cadiente, presented a captivating intermission number.

Dr. Alerica B. Frias then delivered a heartfelt message of gratitude to the teachers and students, expressing the profound impact of educators on the lives of students. In a tribute to these hardworking and inspiring teachers, certificates of appreciation were presented to the faculty and staff by Hon. Maria Gladys Taneo, SSG President, and Hon. Niel Hanley Elarcosa, SSG Vice President. Prior to this, students had the opportunity to express their appreciation and spend quality time with their teachers, accompanied by the melodious performances of the Glee Club.

The teachers’ energy levels remained high as they danced away their stress during a lively Zumba presentation led by the CTU Tabogon Performing Arts Club. This joyful celebration continued, culminating with the closing remarks delivered by Prof. Maria Theresa A. Catam-Isan, Student Affairs Office Coordinator.

In the afternoon, a film screening was arranged for the faculty and staff, providing them with a relaxing and entertaining moment to enjoy a movie prepared by the CTEC officers. This served as a reminder for teachers to take a well-deserved break before continuing their noble profession.

The World Teacher’s Day celebration at CTU-Tabogon Extension Campus concluded on a successful note, leaving a lasting and cherished memory for the teachers who play a crucial role in shaping the future of students.
