On October 20, 2023, a momentous event took place at 2:00 PM at the Cebu Technological University-Daanbantayan Campus Tabogon Extension. This auspicious occasion marked the groundbreaking ceremony for the forthcoming multipurpose building of the CTU-Tabogon Extension Campus. The program gathered an esteemed group of individuals, including Cebu 4th District Congresswoman Janice Z. Salimbangon, DPWH Assistant District Engineer Susan Ornopia Aroa, ABC President Salome Bungabong, Hon. Nick Manloloyo, Hon. Venerando Manloloyo, Engr. Zenaida Quisido, Engr. Gregory Cataquez of Z&G Construction, DPWH Cebu 1st District Engineering Office Representatives, CTU-Tabogon Campus Director Dr. Rolina C. Paran, Assistant Campus Director, and Dean of Instruction of CTU-Daanbantayan Campus Prof. Felixberto T. Lucabon Jr., Administrative Officer V Ms. Sofia M. Montana, Triune Marco Builder Solution Inc. Claire Lopez, Tabogon Barangay Captains, faculty and staff, and the enthusiastic students of CTU-Tabogon Extension.
The opening program of the groundbreaking ceremony, gracefully hosted by Ms. Sheila Mae O. Arcipe, commenced with preliminary proceedings that included an invocation and renditions of the Philippine National Anthem, ASEAN Hymn, CTU Hymn, and Sugbo Hymn. As the ceremony unfolded, Dr. Rolina C. Paran, the Campus Director of CTU-Tabogon Extension Campus, welcomed everyone with her opening remarks, filling the air with an electric sense of anticipation for the upcoming multipurpose building. Following this, Ms. Arcipe wholeheartedly acknowledged the distinguished guests in attendance. To further delight the audience, the talented Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering students delivered a musical performance, and a captivating intermission number was presented by selected members of the CTU-Tabogon Performing Arts Club.
Cebu 4th District Congresswoman Janice Z. Salimbangon shared her enthusiastic message about the donated multipurpose building and introduced the key individuals behind this soon-to-be landmark project. Furthermore, on behalf of Tabogon Municipal Mayor, Honorable Francis Edward T. Salimbangon, the ABC President, Hon. Salome Bungabong, conveyed her supportive message for the project’s future contributions to the school and its students. Dr. Ruben M. Ungui, Campus Director of CTU-Daanbantayan Campus, along with the Assistant Campus Director and Dean of Instruction, Prof. Felixberto T. Lucabon Jr., lauded the dedicated efforts of the officials and expressed profound gratitude for their generosity and contribution. This collaborative effort exemplifies the expanding facilities and development of the CTU-Tabogon Extension.
As the program reached its most anticipated moment, the groundbreaking ceremony, Congresswoman Salimbangon and her team participated in the symbolic architectural ritual that heralded the commencement of construction for the multipurpose building. Bathed in sunlight, the shovels they held glistened, signifying the promise of a new chapter in this eagerly awaited project. In front of an eager audience, the team stood united, ready to embark on the journey ahead.
