Future Educators participate in Field Study Orientation

The Graduating Education Students of Cebu Technological University Daanbantayan Campus-Tabogon Extension embarked on an exciting and informative journey as they participated in an orientation for their upcoming field study on October 16, 2023. The event was a resounding success, commencing promptly at 9:00 in the morning at the CTU Tabogon Extension Campus Library. A total of 43 aspiring teachers, comprising 26 students from the Bachelor of Technology and Livelihood Education Major in Home Economics (BTLED-HE) program and 17 from the Bachelor of Elementary Education (BEED) program, gathered to gain valuable insights into the world of education.

The orientation was expertly hosted by Ms. Rhona Mae Colegado, who ensured that all attendees felt welcomed and engaged.

Dr. Rolina C. Paran, the esteemed Campus Director of CTU Tabogon Extension, graced the occasion with a warm and inspiring welcome message, setting the tone for the event. Her words of encouragement and support instilled a sense of enthusiasm among the pre-service teachers, motivating them for the tasks ahead.

Following this, Prof. Felixberto T. Lucabon Jr., the Dean of Instruction and Assistant Campus Director of CTU Daanbantayan Campus, elucidated the Statement of Purpose, emphasizing the significance of the field study and its role in their education journey.

Dr. Braulio M. Diongson, the Chairman for Student Teaching, assumed the stage to present the Field Study Policies and Guidelines/Practices. With utmost clarity, he discussed the Course Scope/Topic, the Course Requirements, and the Grading System, providing the students with a comprehensive understanding of what to expect during their field study. The open forum that ensued allowed the students to seek clarifications and raise questions, resulting in a lively and productive discussion. Dr. Diongson addressed each query diligently, ensuring that every student left with a clear comprehension of the crucial aspects of their upcoming classroom observations.

The orientation reached its culmination with Ms. Rowena Delos Santos, the Field Study 2 Instructor, delivering a thorough summary of the key topics covered during the session. She stressed the practical aspects of being in the field, offering valuable insights and real-world advice to prepare the students for their classroom observations. Her guidance served as a solid foundation for the aspiring teachers as they look forward to their field study experience.
