PhilSys Orientation at CTU-Tabogon

The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) has emphasized the vital role of the Philippine Identification System (PhilSys) in fostering inclusivity by ensuring the right to legal identity for all Filipinos. This commitment to providing a comprehensive legal identity system was reaffirmed during the Information-Dissemination on Basic Civil Registration and Latest Statistical Activities held on November 29, 2023, at 1:00 PM in the BEED 1 room.

This informative session catered to the faculty, staff, and graduating students of CTU-Tabogon Extension Campus and commenced with a welcome address delivered by Mrs. Cherrylene G. Macachor, standing in for Dr. Rolina C. Paran, Campus Director of CTU-Tabogon Extension. The program officially began with Prof. Ana Roa L. Ortega, BSHM Chairperson, introducing the purpose of the event and the distinguished speakers.

Mr. Rogelio P. Perez Jr., a statistical analyst, presented up-to-date statistical data on the population of the Philippines and its provinces, gathered from the 2020 survey. He delved into the establishment of the Philippine Statistics Authority on September 12, 2013, through the Philippine Statistical Act of 2013 (Republic Act No. 10625), signed by President Benigno S. Aquino III.

Following this, Ms. Jessah T. Cabasan, Registration Officer 1, shared valuable insights on Basic Civil Registration, shedding light on its importance. Subsequently, Ms. Leah May S. Yntig, an Administrative Assistant 11/Birth Registration Agent, discussed the PhilSys Birth Registration Assistance Project (PBRAP), providing attendees with essential information.

An engaging open forum ensued, where participants had the opportunity to pose questions and express concerns regarding their PSA documents. The speakers, in turn, actively responded, addressing the inquiries and providing clarity. In appreciation of their contributions, certificates were awarded to the speakers, marking the successful conclusion of the orientation at exactly 5:00 PM.

Engr. Maria Theresa Catam-isan, SAO Coordinator, delivered the closing remarks, acknowledging the pivotal role played by the speakers in making the orientation a triumph. The event not only disseminated crucial information but also fostered a sense of awareness and engagement among the participants regarding the PhilSys and other significant statistical activities.
