During the Second Regular Committee Meeting of the House Committee on Higher and Technical Education (CHTE) on September 16, 2025, House Bill No. 978 was proposed by Representative Sun J. Shimura, marking an important step toward enhancing access to higher education in Cebu.
The proposed bill seeks to convert the Cebu Technological University extension campus in the Municipality of Tabuelan, Province of Cebu, into a regular campus.
Other bills proposing the conversion of other extension campuses into regular campuses were also introduced during the meeting.
