For its engagements in capacity development activities to assist the Department of Interior and Local Government, Local Government Academy (LGA), and LGUs in Cebu Province and Region 7, DILG awarded Cebu Tech the NextGen CapDev Accelerator award during the national agency’s Gabi ng Pasasalamat year-end event on December 13, 2022, at the Manila Hotel in Manila.
Dr. Adrian Ybanez, a university researcher and a member of the CTU CapDev Analytics team, received the award on behalf of Pres. Ancheta.
During the second half of the year, DILG-7 tapped Cebu Tech through Prof. Siegfried D. Mendoza to lead a research project that aims to create a tool to analyze the CapDev data given by LGUs in Cebu Province and eventually in the region and interpret the results for the Devolution Transition Plans in preparation of the full devolution under the Mandanas-Garcia ruling.
The CTU-DILG-7 CapDev Analytics project team also included faculty researchers from Tuburan Campus Mr. Rechie Bejasa, Mrs. Zandra Mendoza and Mrs. Mae Dimzon.
