Intellectual Property Workshop: Fostering Innovation Through IP Creation

On January 27-28, 2025, a two-day seminar-workshop on Intellectual Property (IP) Protection, organized by CebuTech Tuburan in partnership with the National Research Council of the Philippines (DOST-NRCP) and Kalambuan, Inc. was successfully held at the Administration Building’s Conference Hall. The event provided valuable insights into the importance of protecting intellectual property.

A highlight of the event was an insightful talk by Engr. Naomi A. Bajao, University Director of the University Intellectual Property Technology and Business Management (IPBTM), who presented the basics of intellectual property (IP), its advantages, and methods for safeguarding it. The importance of IP rights for business development, economic growth, sustainability, and research was the focus of an informative discussion led by Prof. Siegfried D. Mendoza, and the Agri-Aqua Technology Business Incubation (ATBI) and the IPBTM teams.

The event was attended by CebuTech faculty members from the Main Campus’ College of Management and Entrepreneurship, and by faculty members and students from the Tuburan Campus, including the BS Hospitality Management, BS Information Technology, Bachelor in Industrial Technology, and BS Industrial Engineering programs.
