EDP HatSPoTSCC Closing Program

Last December 7, 2024, the community extension project Electricity Decarbonization Program: Harnessing the Sun’s Power Through Sustainable Community Cooperation (EDP HaTSPoTSCC) Phase 2 had its culmination through a Closing Program.

Participants gathered with the extension team in Brgy Alegria, Tuburan, Cebu, for the closing program and the Alegria Farmers’ Association (AFA) Christmas Party. The event kicked off with a warm welcome from Brgy. Alegria Councilor, Hon. Rosedita Pando, whose opening words set a positive tone for the occasion. CebuTech Tuburan Extension Services Director Prof. Devonna Celedonio highlighted the purpose of the undertaking. Engr. Naomi Bajao, the project leader, followed with an insightful talk, offering a comprehensive summary of the project’s achievements and outcomes.

The event was made more significant as Campus Director Dr. Ma. Carla Abaquita, Hon. Tuburan Mayor Democrito ‘Aljun’ Diamante, Project Benefactor Engr. Christian Daniel Diamante and many other distinguished individuals shared words that inspired everyone in attendance.

The Electricity Decarbonization Program: Harnessing the Sun’s Power Through Sustainable Community Cooperation (EDP HatSPoTSCC) is a collaborative project of the College of Technology’s Information and Industrial Technology (BSIT and BIT) and the Bachelor of Science of Industrial Engineering (BSIE) of the College of Engineering. The goal of the project is to promote awareness of renewable energy and address climate change, and participants share a common goal of becoming pioneers in electricity decarbonization within the municipality.
