



Through the Gender and Development (GAD) Office, a two-day training workshop was attended by CebuTech Tuburan faculty members from the College of Education (COEd), College of Technology (COT), College of Agriculture (COA), and College of Engineering (COE). The professional development program, entitled Gender-Fair Education: Crafting Inclusive Syllabi, Assessments, and Learning Strategies, aimed to create equitable, inclusive, and gender-sensitive learning environments by empowering faculty with vital tools and knowledge. Held on February 20-21, 2025, at the Conference Room on the 3rd Floor of the Admin Building, the workshop included insightful sessions on crafting outcomes-based (OBE) syllabi and designing effective assessments and learning strategies.


Participants were warmly welcomed to the workshop through Dr. Adelliosa Menchavez’s welcome remarks. Campus Director Dr. Ma. Carla Abaquita graced the session and shared a message of support. Ms. Virnalyn Porte, Campus GAD Director, officially started the workshop with Session 1: Introduction to Gender-Fair Education.
The event was made even more productive as Dr. Collin Garrido, the workshop’s resource person from CTU-San Francisco, enriched the discussion with valuable perspectives. Dr. Garrido led Session 2: Integrating Gender-Fair Pedagogy in Syllabi Re-orientations.

The deans from the participating colleges enriched the educators’ insights as breakout sessions per course program were conducted to provide program-specific guidance. Session 4 focused on Integrating Gender-Fair Pedagogy in Test Question Making and Table of Specifications (TOS) Revisit.






Following the insightful and productive two-day training sessions, the resource persons and educator participants were acknowledged with plaques of appreciation presented by Campus Dean of Instruction Dr. Rowena Abaquita and Assistant Campus Director Dr. Maria Leni Torralba. COT Dean Engr. Fernando Mangubat Jr. formally closed the event with his closing remarks.
