Through a ceremonial signing of a Deed of Donation on February 25, 2025, the ownership of two pieces of equipment was officially transferred to CebuTech Tuburan FabLab. The transfer of ownership was made possible by the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Cebu Provincial Office through OIC-Provincial Director Marivic Aguilar. Ownership of the handheld 3D scanner and Laser Cutting Machine was granted after the two pieces of equipment were under a three-year usufruct agreement, allowing the FabLab to use and benefit from the equipment during that time.
DTI-7’s Regional Coordinator, Rio Angelo Escobilla, CTU-Tuburan’s Campus Director, Dr. Ma. Carla Abaquita, and Fab Lab Director Siegfried Mendoza, as a witness, participated in the signing ceremony. Now officially owned by CebuTech Tuburan FabLab, the equipment, part of the 2021 facilities upgrade, manifests DTI-7 and Cebu Technological University’s ongoing commitment to supporting the country’s innovation.
