Strengthening Gender and Equality: Highlights from the GAD Strategic Planning and Training

To promote gender equality and empowerment, the Gender and Development (GAD) Office organized a three-day activity entitled “CTU Tuburan 2025 GAD Strategic Planning and GFPS and CODI Training.” Alongside insightful sessions on GAD, participants were also empowered through training on Gender and Family Planning Services (GFPS) and the Community Organizing and Development Initiative (CODI). The event was organized by the GAD Office, led by Chairperson Ms. Virnalyn Porte and the GAD staff, with participation from CebuTech Tuburan and Tabuelan GAD Coordinators. The undertaking featured esteemed resource persons, resulting in insightful and productive sessions.

On Day 1, Dr. Marlou Codinez delivered a talk on basic GAD concepts, followed by a session on setting and aligning GAD objectives. Campus Director Dr. Ma. Carla Abaquita shared words of support during the opening program. In the afternoon, Mrs. Emmylou Tabotabo and Mrs. Janveneth Susatana presented on resource and budget allocation relative to GAD.

On Day 2, CebuTech Tuburan HR Officer Ms. Cristy Xilde, together with Ms. Porte, led the strategic planning session. On Day 3, Atty. Shied Faisah Lanterna spearheaded the CODI training, emphasizing ethical standards and professional conduct.
