Empowering March: CebuTech Tuburan Celebrates National Women’s Month

GAD 2025

In celebration of International Women’s Month, CebuTech Tuburan and Tabuelan, through the Gender and Development (GAD) Office, organized a series of significant events throughout March to honor and empower women.

The month-long celebration officially kicked off on March 3, 2025, with an opening program. Following the launch, a series of celebratory activities, empowering sessions, and development programs took place. Among the highlights were training workshops focused on empowering faculty and staff with essential skills, such as bakery techniques, mental health awareness, financial literacy, and leadership development.

To emphasize the importance of good health, the GAD Sports League – Beginner’s Cup opened with a Zumba exercise session. Following this, faculty, employees, and students had the opportunity to engage in various events. The Musika Juan-a Student Edition also showcased the talents of students, with the BTLEd from the College of Education (COEd) taking home the championship trophy.

On March 27, the Serbisyo Para Kay Juan at Juana offered a special day of self-care services to faculty, staff, retirees, and PTA officers. This event provided free pampering services, including foot spa, manicures and pedicures, haircuts and coloring, massages, and health services.

Another exciting highlight was the Kusina ni Juan-a competition, where various departments and colleges competed to showcase their culinary skills and innovative dishes. The Administration Department emerged as the Kusina ni Juana Champions, with the Bachelor of Science in Information Technology (BSIT) and the College of Agriculture (COA) securing first and second runners-up, respectively.

The celebration culminated with a closing program, which featured inspiring words from esteemed women leaders of the campus, reflecting on the progress made and motivating continued empowerment and unity among the community. The program also included the Musika Juan-a Faculty and Employee Edition, a vibrant sing-and-dance competition where faculty and staff delivered live performances of empowering music. The College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) claimed the championship, with the Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Management (BSHM) department as the first runner-up. The BSIT and COEd departments rounded out the top spots, earning second runner-up honors for their powerful performances.

The month-long celebration serves as a powerful reminder of the collective strength, talent, and resilience shared by the CebuTech Tuburan and Tabuelan’s community.
