CebuTech Tuburan Team Meets with PBS Official to Discuss FUture Plans for 98.1 DYPS BT Radio

May 23, 2025 – Quezon City, Philippines – A delegation from Cebu Technological University (CTU) Tuburan Campus visited the Presidential Broadcast Service (PBS) today for a high-level meeting aimed at strengthening ties and discussing the future direction of 98.1 DYPS BT Radio, an affiliate of the PBS network.

Leading the CTU Tuburan delegation was Engr. Fernando N. Mangubat Jr., Station Manager of DYPS BT Radio, joined by Engr. Naomi A. Bajao, Program Director, and Prof. Sergio R. Magpuyo Jr., Faculty Member and Job Placement Coordinator of CTU Tuburan Campus.

The team met with PBS Director IV, Director Fernando A. Sanga, to discuss recent developments, explore new opportunities for collaboration, and align on strategic goals to enhance public service broadcasting in the region.

Also present during the meeting was Engr. Ma. Eileen V. Eligado, Acting Chief of the Network Division, who provided insights into upcoming technical and programming innovations being developed across the PBS network.

“We are thrilled to be part of this dynamic network and to contribute to nation-building through responsible and relevant broadcasting,” said Engr. Mangubat. “Today’s meeting reaffirms our commitment to deliver quality programming and community-centered content.”

The discussion focused on boosting local engagement, upgrading station infrastructure, training student broadcasters, and exploring new digital platforms for wider reach. Director Sanga expressed his support for the station’s initiatives and emphasized PBS’s continuous advocacy to strengthen affiliate stations across the country.

98.1 DYPS BT Radio, owned by CTU Tuburan Campus, serves as a vital platform for community development, student involvement, and information dissemination in Northern Cebu. As part of the PBS network, the station plays a key role in amplifying educational and government-related content.

This visit marks a new chapter in the collaboration between CTU Tuburan and the Presidential Broadcast Service, as both parties look forward to further innovation in public broadcasting and media education.
