The National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA), in partnership with NTFP-EP Philippines represented by Ma. Imelda G. Urata, Visayas Area Coordinator, NTFP-EP Philippines, visited CebuTech Tuburan in the morning of August 4, 2025.

BUKAG (Buhat ug Ugmad Kaugmaon Atu-ang Giyahan), an extension project facilitated by the College of Arts and Sciences in collaboration with the College of Engineering and the College of Technology, was a key focus of the visit, particularly to gather baseline information on community-managed, culture-based enterprises engaged in artisan production for potential funding and partnership opportunities.

The CebuTech Tuburan Extension Office is optimistic about the assessment’s outcome. As Dean Gallarde shared, “The primary objective for BUKAG is long-term sustainability. Securing the necessary assistance early on is crucial for establishing the business successfully and benefiting the local community.”

The NCCA’s insightful visit earlier was actively participated in by representatives of the BUKAG Association of Tuburan, including BUKAG Project Director Dr. Rogela A. Flores and BUKAG 4ward Project Leader and Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences, Dr. Lanny Merryl N. Gallarde.
