In partnership with Home of Love – Bagasawe and the University Shared Facility in the Food Innovation Center (FIC), the project KUSINA, or Kakugi Uban sa Saktong Inobasyon para sa mga Nanay ug Anak nga Adunay Abilidad sa Paghurno, successfully ran from July 1 to September 13, 2025. Emphasizing social responsibility and community empowerment through skills development and collaboration, the project effectively empowered 15 women from a sheltered community and 5 children.

A major highlight of the project was the development and standardization of innovative food products. Squash Tart, Lemon Cookies with Turmeric Extract, and Squash Bar Cookies were carefully crafted following standardized procedures to ensure quality and consistency. The project further enhanced practical knowledge in packaging design, product costing, and entrepreneurial skills, bringing these creations closer to market readiness as potential Tuburan delicacies while instilling important values in the beneficiaries.

Beyond strengthening collaborative partnerships among CTU-Tuburan, Home of Love, and the local community in pursuit of sustainable and meaningful extension work, project KUSINA remained true to its aspiration of equipping children and participants with valuable skills and values.
