CebuTech Tuburan Provides Psychological First Aid

CTU Tuburan PFA

Amid the recent earthquake impacts in Northern Cebu, CebuTech Tuburan undertook proactive steps to provide psychological first aid (PFA) for the welfare of its employees and their families. Leading the sessions on October 17, 2025, was the PFA team comprised of volunteer PFA facilitators from various CTU campuses, including the Main Campus, Carmen, Danao, and Daanbantayan, uniting the university’s expertise to support the Tuburan community.

The program, designed by the Gender and Development Office and held at the CTU Covered Court, aims to provide immediate emotional and psychosocial support, preventing long-term psychological distress, trauma, or mental health concerns among affected members of the CTU community. Dr. Michelle Trangia, the PFA team leader, explained why the initiative was important. She stressed that supporting mental and emotional health after a crisis is key to helping people recover.

This initiative is part of the campus’s commitment to caring for the well-being of everyone impacted by the recent earthquake, and its success shows CTU’s strong dedication to supporting its community during challenging times, and its ongoing commitment to helping everyone recover and move forward together.
