Technological Innovation and Academic Sustainability: RECOD 2026

April 15–16, 2026 marked significant milestones for CebuTech Tuburan as it hosted the 1st International and 4th Institutional Research Congress and Online Discussion (RECOD) 2026. Inspired by the theme “Technological Innovation and Academic Sustainability Towards a Resilient Green Environment,” the event featured student activities that served as platforms to showcase innovation and research through paper presentations, insightful talks, and exhibits, all geared towards a fruitful, sustainability-centered academic exchange that fostered collaboration and innovation among students, faculty members, and experts.

The first day of the event featured expert talks from esteemed resource persons, including Dr. Khadem Hussain Saeedi, Senior Teaching Assistant at Kandahar University, Afghanistan, and Dr. Lynnette Matea Camello, Professor II at Cebu Technological University. Their presentations provided participants with valuable insights on “Biofloc Technology as Technological Innovation for Sustainable Aquaculture and Global Food Security” and “Innovative Educational Technologies for Sustainable Academic Development,” respectively.

Day 1 also included simultaneous online paper presentations in the clusters of Food Security and Agriculture; Engineering and Technology Innovation; and Education, Social Sciences, and Tourism. These sessions provided an avenue for insightful academic exchange among students and panel members.

The second day highlighted the Research Exhibit Competition and Discussion, graced by the presence and support of key individuals, Engr. Grecilda “Gigi” Sanchez-Zaballero, Dr. Lynnette Matea Camello, Dr. Primo Aranas, Jr., Jd. Cape Beverly Genobiagon and Dr. Reynant Angelo Perez Lepiten, who served as panelists together with CebuTech Tuburan faculty members. Through an awarding ceremony, the 2026 Research Congress and Online Discussion concluded with the recognition of the exceptional and innovative works of Tuburan and Tabuelan Technologists.

The event’s success marked CebuTech Tuburan’s continued dedication to supporting students and faculty and to nurturing a strong research culture.
