SIDLAK Rekindles Light of Hope for Out-of-School Youth in Tuburan

SIDLAK Community Extension Project

The community extension project, Sending Light and Illuminating Hope amidst the Difficulties in Learning the English Language and Acquiring Communication Skills to the Kabataan (SIDLAK) continues to make lives brighter as it brings light to out-of-school youth in Brgy. Caridad, Tuburan.

Through skills training in English proficiency for target beneficiaries, one of SIDLAK’s goals is to prepare them for returning to school and pursuing employment opportunities. Spearheaded by the College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) through the lead of Dr. Mayeth Avenido, SIDLAK features insightful and engaging sessions facilitated by second-year Bachelor of Arts in English Language (BAEL) students, guided by faculty members.

Ultimately, the SIDLAK extension project is a meaningful response to the many challenges confronting out-of-school youth, bridging the gap between socioeconomic disadvantage and opportunity through targeted English proficiency training.
