GENDER AND DEVELOPMENT OFFICE FACILITIES

The Gender and Development (GAD) Office, located on the ground floor of the College of Education, is a dedicated space that champions gender equality, inclusivity, and human rights. Staffed by two committed professionals, it provides support services, conducts seminars and workshops, and leads community-based projects that promote gender awareness and empowerment. A key feature of the office is the VAWC Corner, a secure and confidential area where individuals affected by gender-based violence can access immediate assistance, counseling, and information on protective laws such as RA 9262 and RA 11313. Another essential facility is the Lactation Area, a clean, quiet, and private space designed to support breastfeeding mothers, reflecting the institution’s commitment to women’s health and reproductive rights. The Childminding Area further promotes inclusivity by offering a safe and engaging environment where children of student-parents or employees may stay temporarily, provided a parental waiver is submitted. These three core services work together to break down barriers and make the institution more supportive and gender-responsive. The reception area welcomes all stakeholders, offering printed materials and digital access to GAD-related resources and reporting tools. The office also includes organized zones for staff and the GAD Chairperson, fostering smooth administrative work, consultations, and policy implementation. Each space is purposefully designed with advocacy-themed visuals to reinforce the values of diversity, empowerment, and care. Altogether, the GAD Office serves as a model of inclusive service, a safe space where everyone is valued, protected, and supported.
